The Metabolic Center of Louisiana

The Metabolic Center of Louisiana is a unique medical clinic in Baton Rouge.  The Center serves patients with diabetes and other conditions of the endocrine system.   At the clinic, we emphasize treating the whole patient.  Our patients are able to receive care for many of their health needs at one location.   Our clinic offers cutting edge medical treatment complimented by health, nutrition, and socio-psychological counseling, medication, and medical research.

Dr. Rajat Bhushan, medical director of the Center, specialized in endocrinology at Yale University and has been practicing in Baton Rouge since 1989.  MCLA’s medical staff  includes physicians, physician assistant, licensed nurses, a registered dietitian, clinical social workers, and medical assistants that are dedicated to providing excellent patient care.

The Center’s clinic serves patients with diabetes, insulin resistance, polycystic ovarian syndrome, lipid disorders, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis, renal stones, neuroendocrine and thyroid problems, growth disorders, infertility, and erectile dysfunction

 

 

Dr. Bhushan
Rajat Bhushan, M.D. F.A.C.E.

 

Dr. Bhushan has practiced endocrinology for over 20 years. He is currently the principal investigator for over 10 clinical research trials in the fields of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cholesterol, and other aspects of metabolism. Dr. Bhushan completed a fellowship in endocrinology at Yale University after finishing a residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University where he was twice named resident of the year. He is board certified in hypertension and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.  Dr. Bhushan is also a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Endocrine Society, the American Society of Hypertension, and the National Lipid Association.

 

 

Mr. Marrioneaux
Ory Marrioneaux, P.A.-C., CDE

 

Mr. Marrioneaux has worked with Dr. Bhushan since 2002 to provide quality patient care in endocrinology. He has practiced medicine as a board certified physician's assistant for almost 30 years and is a certified diabetes educator. He received his associates degree in physician assistant studies from Essex College and completed his clinical studies at Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Marrioneaux is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Endocrine Society, and the American Diabetes Association. He is also a retired member of the United States Navy.
